Lord of the Ocean Paytable Symbols on a 10-Line Slot
In short: Lord of the Ocean is a slot whose nine paying symbols are multiplied by the line bet, while the gate is multiplied by the total stake. Poseidon tops the table at 5,000 times the line bet for five.
You get two different sums on one screen here. Nine symbols pay off the line bet, the gate pays off your whole stake, and four of the nine start paying from two in a row.

- Game:
- Lord of the Ocean (a Novomatic video slot, distributed online by Greentube)
- Type:
- Slot game
- RTP as published:
- Not one number but a set of versions, and this title documents that better than almost any other because its licensees disagree in public, in writing, inside the same regulated markets.
- Max win:
- Four different ceilings are published for this title, all by named licensed operators, and they do not agree.
Listed from the highest payer down, with values given per line and converted to the multiplier the client works from. The gate sits last because it is the only symbol paid from the total stake.
Two Bases on One Screen
Two different bases sit on the same paytable, and mixing them is the commonest error.
The nine ordinary symbols pay a multiple of the bet on one line. The gate pays a multiple of everything you staked that spin. The client makes this easy to miss because it shows money rather than multipliers. At 0.10 across ten lines, Poseidon's five-symbol row reads 50.00. The gate's five-symbol row reads 20.00. Only the arithmetic tells you those two numbers come from different places, and that is where most symbol lists go wrong.
Keep the two apart and the rest of the table is simple. Mix them up and a 20.00 scatter row turns into a 2,000 per-line claim the client never made, which is how the bad numbers spread.
Four Symbols Pay from Two
Four symbols start paying from two in a row, which most symbol lists drop. Poseidon pays 0.10 for a pair at our stake. The mermaid, the chest and the statue each pay 0.05.

Figures current as of ; the operator's live terms prevail.
The card symbols never pay from a pair, so a list saying otherwise has not opened the screen.
Four payers out of nine.
The Gate Does Both Jobs
The gate is the wild and the scatter at once. Poseidon is simply the top payer. A panel headed SUBSTITUTES FOR sits beside it on the same screen. All nine payers are listed underneath it. The gate is the symbol doing the substituting.

Three or more gates anywhere award ten free games. One of the nine payers is then drawn at random. That symbol expands across a whole reel for the rest of the feature and pays even on non-adjacent positions. The client also states a limit catalogues rarely mention: the gate cannot stand in for that expanding symbol while the free games run. So the symbol that substitutes for everything in the base game stops substituting at the moment it would matter most.
What the Lines Do to the Values
Playing fewer lines moves every number on the screen. The client says so itself, in a line reading that the paytable always shows the prizes for the currently selected bet and number of lines. That is why a figure copied from one site rarely matches another.

Our values are all taken at 0.10 across ten lines, which puts 0.01 on each line.
Change the line count and the whole column moves.
Converting the Screen into Per-Line Multipliers
| Symbol | Shown for five at 0.10 | Per-line multiplier | Base |
|---|---|---|---|
| Poseidon | 50.00 | 5,000 | Line bet |
| Mermaid | 20.00 | 2,000 | Line bet |
| Chest and statue | 7.50 | 750 | Line bet |
| Ace and King | 1.50 | 150 | Line bet |
| Queen, Jack and Ten | 1.00 | 100 | Line bet |
| Gate | 20.00 | 200 | Total stake |
It Matches the Austrian Document
Our reading of the screen matches a document no casino wrote. Austria's state operator publishes binding game conditions for this title. Every row above lines up with it: 5,000, 2,000, 750, 150 and 100 per line. The gate sits at 200, 20 and 2 of the total stake. Where a document published by a state operator and a live client agree row for row, the numbers are about as solid as anything gets in this corner of the web.
Two independent sources, one table. We do not recommend trusting any symbol list that gives a single column of numbers without saying which base it used. A good half of the figures you meet online are per-line values quietly relabelled as stake multiples.
Key Terms Used on This Page
- Line bet
- The stake on one of the ten selectable lines; at a 0.10 total stake it is 0.01, which is how the client's 50.00 row becomes 5,000.
- Total stake
- The sum across every selected line, running 0.10 to 50.00 in the maker's client, and the base the gate pays from.
- Gate
- The single symbol that is both wild and scatter, substituting for all nine payers and paying 200, 20 and 2 of the total stake.
- Expanding symbol
- One of the nine payers drawn at random before the 10 free games, which then fills a whole reel for the rest of them.
