Lord of the Ocean
Lord of the Ocean is two different things sharing one name: an English epithet for Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea, and a five-reel slot machine built by Novomatic. The slot runs on ten selectable lines, and a single gate symbol acts as both wild and scatter.

- Not one number but a set of versions, and this title documents that better than almost any other because its licensees disagree in public, in writing, inside the same regulated markets.
- Max win:
- Four different ceilings are published for this title, all by named licensed operators, and they do not agree.
The British Results, Measured
The British top ten for the bare phrase contains no page about the slot. We measured it on . Two Reddit threads discussed Beidou, the character nicknamed Uncrowned Lord of the Ocean in Genshin Impact. A Casinomeister forum thread sat among them, an answer box explained who the lord of the ocean is, a Quora thread argued about Tolkien, and a Steam listing filled out the rest.
The God Behind the Phrase
Poseidon rules the sea in Greek myth, and English uses "lord of the ocean" as a stock way of naming him. Encyclopaedias and school material treat the phrase as a description rather than a title, which is why it attaches to anything maritime. The Roman counterpart is Neptune, and the two get mixed up constantly. One British licensee prints that this game is based on Roman mythology, where you will find Poseidon. Poseidon is the Greek one.
What the Slot Is
The slot is a Novomatic title delivered online by Greentube, with five reels, three rows and up to ten lines you select yourself. One symbol does two jobs.

A gate acts as wild and scatter at once, and three of them award ten free games with a randomly chosen expanding symbol. Poseidon appears, but only as the top-paying ordinary symbol, worth 5,000 times the line bet for five of a kind.
How to Tell Which One You Found
Look for a number. A myth page has none; a slot page is full of them.

A page about the god talks about tridents, Olympus and myth; a page about the slot carries a return figure, a line count and a stake range. If you see 95.10%, ten paylines or a £5 stake ceiling, you have found the reel game. If you see a family tree with Zeus and Hades in it, you have not.
Other Poseidon Slots That Aren't It
Several sea-god slots get mistaken for this one, and line counts separate them quickly.

Almighty Jackpots, Realm of Poseidon is also Novomatic, but runs 25 lines against this game's ten, and carries a jackpot feature this title does not have. Aqua Lord comes from Swintt. Tridentia is a Merkur release. Poseidon's Realm and Ocean Tale are different games again, and none of them carries the gate symbol that defines this one.
Built by Novomatic, Run by Greentube
Two companies stand behind these reels, and they are not interchangeable. The maths and the brand belong to Novomatic; the online build and the game servers belong to Greentube. Greentube's own catalogue files this title under the id 149 and the client technology NovoSDK, which carries 728 of the 742 games it lists.
A page naming only one of them is not wrong, just half the answer.
Why Germany Sees Something Else
Google has resolved the name in Germany and not in Britain. On the German results page for the same phrase, every result we saw was a gambling page, with two low-authority affiliate sites above the fold. That gap matters if you search across countries: the same four words return a myth in one market and a slot machine in the other, so a result that looks wrong may simply be the other meaning.
